I have a friend who wants to get started in the website business. Basically just wants to build a couple sites around a few niches. Now its hard for me to explain all that I've learned to him, so....

Can you recommend a few good links I could send him that would help get him started and sort of point him in the right direction?

To learn the actual mechanics surrounding web development I highly recommend w3schools.com as a starting point. I know that it's helped me out a lot!

I guess my biggest problem is that I don't know what to recommend him to use to create his pages (he doesn't know html). I myself use a Joomla CMS and there is no way he can grasp that right away. Should I point him toward website creators like GoDaddy's "Website Tonight" or or something?

    Thanks for your input

tizag.com has awesome tutorials, I was able to teach myself PHP using their site, so I'm sure that their HTML section is equally competent.
