Thank you for that explanation. That makes perfect sense. I may have to look into that some time in the future. The only difficulty with a great many of my sites is they are newsite.domain.com, where as the "domain.com" is something I would like to keep I've got kind of a 50/50 mix on virtual domains and domains. If something looks like it is going to work then I will go out and register the domain. If not, no loss.
I too was a bit upset about site point charging. But they do get lots of traffic looking to buy and you can put more than one site up for sale in the thread. The reason they did it was to try and stop the slew of low quality turn-key sites people were hawking there. I wish their price was a little more reasonable, like $2.99 per thread or a $4.99 fee on the sale of a site. When I finally hit 25 posts I will post a site up for sale here and see what type of comparable response I receive. good luck
I did protest at the sleuth of non described turnkey sh*t that SP had and many agreed that maybe the for sale should be split with sites over 1yr separate but they obvioulsy decided that charging was a better way to reduce the flow of sh*t
