Where to put the links?

Is there any rules on where the link should be placed? Like does it have to be on the front page or can it be on the Resources page or Links page?

If it's your site,you can put the links wherever you want.

And if it is not your site, then you cannot put but can request.

In general home page link at top portion are better. If home page is not relevant then go for link from relevant page with high PR and high traffic page. Top portion of page is always good to choose.

 

You have the decision to place the links, and if the other party doesn't aggree with you, you can decline his request. If you are talking about submitting to directories, you can place it anywhere. Directory spider doesn't look at the linked page PR.

 

Thanks for replying all. hhheng, you mean there is no point in submitting my web link to web directories as this doesn't consider as "people linking to me" . Sorry I am new, forgot that term ... backlink you call it?

to get optimal weight from links make sure there placed within content

 

That's depend if you want to placed other site link in your site, then you can placed in a resource page or link page that's a gud place. And if you want to placed link of your partner site that is beneficial for you, select page where site come in search.
