Hi, I'm wondering as to where the put Chitika ads on a forum for the best click-through rate? I don't want it to be too distracting though, like right splat in the middle of a topic. Somewhere that can stand out yet not too intimidating at the same time. Thanks
Well, I experimented by putting the Ads on the right side of the forum logo - didn't go well at all. I got over 20,000 impressions in 2 days and received 0 clicks. I guess Chitika wasn't right for my forum. =\ (It's a gaming forum btw)
I've personally removed all ads from my forums. People want to talk to each other on forums, not stare at ads. That's my experience and opinion. Especialy if your forum is small and still growing then I recommend you do not put any ads there. It will just turn away new users. But if you've decided to put ads on your forum then maybe at the bottom of the page, before the "Next Page" link would be worth trying...
Well said Kaltek, but we all have to try these things out in our own journey into making £$£$ from the internet. I have only recently placed Chitika in 2 very busy forum sections away from any Adsense or anything else. I'm not expecting major CTR - but I know the page impressions will be high.. I think I might be better researching/testing an affiliation arrangment based on page impressions! Anyone? regards, Rich.
I put my chitika ads on www.wiiplus.net/forum on the top and footer of the forum - it seems to be doing quite well and it doesn't annoy my members.
Check my layout www.simplelance.com i have the ads on the header the footer and after every posts i get the most click from my header ads.
I've just added chitika to one of my niche forums. The ads will only be shown to non-members. About 50% of the forum's traffic is from non-registered members. This should be a decent test of how it might perform, without annoying my regular members.
20K impressions/no clicks Typical of a forum. Don't waste good ad space with this program. If you have a game review section, by all means target the titles directly in that review, otherwise- grab a different program.
