Moderator requests would be in "Services".

PM the above poster, I understand that she has a little moderating experience under her belt. Maybe you can talk her into taking the job?;)

Wouldn't posting on *your* forum be the best way to find members who are already interested in the topic *and* might have an interest in moderating?
Did you just suggest he pester a DP moderator trying to get her to work for him? :D lol

I know, I was just giving you a hard time. He should be so lucky to even have her join his site. On another note, why does someone just "starting a forum" need moderators? Shouldn't they be doing it themselves until it grows to *need* additional moderators. I can't imagine looking to outsource that kind of thing until it was absolutely necessary.

I agree and of course I was being factitious with the OP about hiring Sarah.
Obviously with little to no traffic, moderators are not needed. And if the OP is not willing to demonstrate any kind of commitment by monitoring it at the outset, then the thing is destined to fail.

On the other hand an experienced moderator can help guide you through the process to avoid certain pitfalls. I had a client with a forum and they did some really odd things. I tried to "advise" but they knew best, apparently.

I'll watch for mrb1129's thread and see what he's paying :)

That reminds me of an old Churchill joke. I guess now they are just haggling over price. :D

I know the joke, it involved him being inebriated and a certain *lady* of the night.
