Hi, I just wanted some feedback from the admins and old timers on DP in regards to posting a thread.

I want to hire someone to do a some categorising work for my e-store, what are some yes's and no's in regards to posting this kind of request?

and what is the best way to go about this.

And since I am new here, it would be nice to know some DP etiqueues when posting this kind of threads?

    Thanks! :)

Just post it in the Buy/Sell/Trade -> Services section.

As mentioned before, that sort of post would go in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum, but you need 25 posts and you must be a member for 14+ days in order to start a thread in that forum.

You may want to read the FAQ, if you havn't done so already:

    Happy posting, and welcome :)!

Hi, thanks for your replies. I did have a quick glance at the FAQ's, apologies if that was a silly question^, but I mustn't have picked up the 14 day probation :)

After my 14 days are up, are there some general rules or heads ups when posting service requests?

Not really. This forum is as liberal as possible, just use common sense when posting :).

There's one unwritten rule which pretty much negates all the written ones.

"Contribute first!" or "Help others more than you ask for help."

If you keep those in mind then you are free to post anything you want. Pretty much. We don't mind self-promotion etc. as long as there is a balance, ideally in the favour of the rest of the board, not yours.

It's like the Swedes who plant two trees for every one they take down. That's a good forum philosophy as well.
