Where to go next?

After reading all of the threads where people are getting 1000's of uniques a day, after a few months, I realize that I am doing something wrong!

My site ( http://www.allyearfootball.com ) has been up for about 9 months now, and I am getting about 60 uniques per day :(

I have been working on developing my site, and using adwords to promote my site, but I am not sure where to go next.

The site is a fantasy football site that uses computer simulated games, so I dont think uniqueness is an issue. I am currently working on link exchanges and directory submissions, but it does not seem to be making much of a difference.

Does anybody have suggestions on where to go next? I have a few hundred dollars I can put into advertising, but I am not sure the best place to put it.

Also, since it is a free site, I am hoping to make some money of advertising. Does anybody have an idea of how much traffic I will need to turn profitable?

    Thanks in advance!

In fact, someone doesn't pay much attention to the traffic, they need PR only.
As your site has a PR3, I could you could sell a few links on your site and make a few bucks.
If you don't know where to sell, see the 'Link Sales' section.

I think its better to concentrate on getting traffic rather than increasing PR. PR will is often a by product of trying to increase traffic. High traffic is a much better selling point then PR.

Don't rely on advertising to make you money. Your site is offering a real, tangible service - so there's always the possibility of premium services.

I would spend some of your money on a designer, to make the site more exciting (IE, make the $50 offer the main focus of the homepage!). It has great potential for a viral launch - if it looks incredible, offers ease of use and is great fun to play, word of mouth will push your daily uniques into the hundreds.

Think about advertising on sites like www.collegehumour.com, get some promotional videos on YouTube and Revver, and take advantage of MySpace while it lasts.

i donot think you are doing somethingwrong . because according to fundamentals of affiliate marketing . you need to increase PR . So adding into directories and link exchange is perfectly fine ... Now your question is why others are getting more visits than you . here is the probable reasons and suggestion for improvement .
    1. you just donot concentrate on just adding links , you need to add contents too . Do you update contents regularly ?
    2. How many revisits are you getting , are you offering some kind of service , so that peoples get chance to revisit your site .
3.Also i recommend to diversify your niches , spending your all time is little risky . so why not choose 3-4 niches and create 3-4 sites (even if one works , brings traffic for you it should be fine) .
