Where to get good low res images for free?

Hey guys, I would like to get a source for royalty free images under 1mb. Sites like Pexels e.t.c have premium images for free but the sizes are too large usually around 3-4mb's and I want to cut down on page loading time.

Is there any source for images which will look good on a page but with the lower file size please?

    I use unsplash.com
If you need low res image, just search Google for image resizer and resize the image. Or, you can simply open the image with any photo editing program (MS Paint works too) and just lower the pixel size.

Thanks, I should have thought of that. I use ImageOptim but that doesn't resize so will look for an online version easy resizer.

Having major problems with file size guys. Seems I can use a size under 500 or so kb. Any options to embed all images instead please so this way the site's server won't be affected by whatever file size of all images?

Just get a decent photo editor and you'll be able to reduce the size of the image and in turn, the file.

Wouldn't go down the route of embedding as while that might save your server, it doesn't reduce loading time. Also you might find the image be "broken" on your website when the server you're linking to realise that you're using their bandwidth.

Thanks. I am going to try this editor: https://pixlr.com/x/

    and this converter: https://webp-converter.com

Question, I don't have all the images saved to run them through that photo editor so anything I can do with the images already in the WP Media Library please?

Sorry I should have mentioned the images in question I cannot find anymore as I don't remember where I had gotten them from.
No option to download from the WP Media Library as I am seeing?

Also, looks like Pixlr won't do for resizing images so I have to look for something else.

If you're using WP they have plugins that will compress the images already uploaded. For new images you can use tinypng(.)com to compress before uploading to WP.

You can try pexels and for image size, use some online compression or change it to webp
