Can somebody advise me where to get free hosting, with no forced ads, for a single website ?? I have surfed the net, but the options are vast, without trustworthy reviews. I don't mind adding their link on my links page, if this helps.

5 bucks a month is worth a lot if it causes the web site to remain running. Free Hosting is not the best hosting just because it has no ads. In most cases, it's not even worth it. Why do you want free hosting websites anyways?
I agree. Reliability, support and uptime are more important than a few dollars. But, unfortunately every one can't afford it. My suggestion is to go with zoomcities free hosting.
I have been using FreeHostia for one site for about six months now. I have heard many people that have used their hosting services in the past complain about downtime or problems with speed. I have never experienced any downtime with them, and speed was not really an issue for me since the site was mostly an ezine. The only package that is free is their chocolate package, which includes 10MB of database storage. This is suitable for many different kinds of sites that mainly offer articles or information. However, I have heard even more complains about integrating AdSense and email marketing campaigns with the site. I am starting to monetize this site, so this may be an issue in the foreseeable future. We will see. If anyone has any experience with using AdSense on FreeHostia or integrating an email marketing campaign, I would love to hear additional feedback. The use of the email system is not free. I do know that, and for the price, it really doesn't seem like much of a bargain. I also purchased my domain name through them, and I could have gotten that elsewhere for a few bucks less.
Wow, I didn't realize there were so many free hosting companies out there. This is great. Are any of them actually GOOD though? Like do they run smoothly and stuff?
The best way to get free hosting is to work something out with a host that doesn't advertise free hosting, imo.
