I want to start a mailing campaign.
How do I get a mailing list? Any ideas on possible price ranges?
I'll appreciate any recommendations and reviews.

    There are 2 ways

    1. Legit - create double opted-in list by yourself.

    2. Not Legit - buy some mailing list from a spam company and continue spam other peoples email.

You should never buy a mailing list. Create it yourself using double optin. If not, the people on the mailing list don't know what to expect when they receive your email, and most likely they'll unsubscribe or file a complaint (spam) against you.

Oh it is really like that? Either double optin (it's a newsletter subscription on the site, right?) or spamming?
Aren't there any legitimate ways to do it? I for example sometimes get newsletters appealing to me (no that I act on them, but I could have) from advertisers that I never signed up for their newsletter before. So, I suppose they got my email address from someone who new what's relevant for me. Are you saying that all this is illegal?

It is always better to develop our own list that purchasing it, because we know the quality and purpose behind it. It may take some time but you try to do it yourself.

The newsletters that you get you actually sign up for in some way shape or form. Usually when installing a program, moving, or getting a free whatever. If you have ever checked a "i am interested in these things" box and then had your email address on their someone. Then there definitely was a disclaimer saying that you allow them to sell your email address to interested parties.

If you know any vendor int he market place you could create a free product to give to their list by having that list go to your website and sign up, something along those lines. That would jump start your list building real fast. As long as its quality material than everybody wins!
