Where to from here earning going down, down and down

Once upon a time there was this block from the land down under who was making a good living from adsense.

But, as the years past, that has changed greatly, this month I might make just one tenth of what I have made in the past.

Have I changed anything, done anything different, no, just tried to make my sites better.

We have had situations where I would have 800 visitors per day, and then overnight google turned the tap off and that site is flat out getting 100.

Not once, not twice, not three times, but at least 4 times.

Oh well, thats life

 

Has your traffic gone down, or stayed down since then? And plus, if your earnings go down - it might be a problem with your traffic and content./

 

Traffic has stayed down. Been doing the same thing for years now.

 

I completely confused the googlebot overnight by redirecting some of one of my sites to the other, since google can't detect which site has the better content and has been sending visitors to the 'wrong' site, and the visitors have been complaining.

Google responded by quartering my CPC, even though the redirect has meant my CTR is way up. I'm hoping this evens itself out when google realises its a permanent thing not a blip. I haven't had a CPC below 10c for years, but then my CTR has never, ever been over 1% either.

Either way, its not much fun suddenly having earnings of $2 a day when two days ago I had over $10 a day.

 

Well just imagine how you would feel if it was once 5 times that amount.

 

Oh, I can imagine. Google has you over a barrel, you can leave your site as is and watch the earnings go up and down, the traffic go up and down, and there's not a thing you can do about it.
