Where to find writers for my niche?

Hey,

I'm having a hard time finding good article writers for my niche (world of warcraft).

I think I'm making a fairly good offer, $12 to $15 per page -- the higher end if it's SEO'd, and HTML formatted. And the writer gets to choose which topic he or she wants to write about within certain limits, meaning they will have to do very little research. They should already know the subject well.

Also, I need the person to be fairly productive. At least 2-3 pages per week consistently. And he or she needs to play world of warcraft.

I'm not sure where to look. Many seem disiniterested in my offer, and few have sufficient experience with WoW.

I found 6 on fiverr. PM'd them and only 2 replied...

I created a project on elance and invited ~10 providers. Most didn't even bid.

There's gotta be people out there who want to do this sort of writing for this money.

Any ideas?

 

Hiring is an art.
The one size fits all kinda solutions are never the answer. So just like large MNC's, you have to be inventive and work around the box (not outside, mind).

I would offer one suggestion. Go to any Warcraft game boards and offer them some game credits in return for an article. Then, hire a re-writer (or you could even do it yourself) to proofread and edit those articles.

Another option is to do a search for Warcraft articles in directories and contact the writers directly with an offer.

Why not sign up at Constant Content as a buying customer? You'll probably find that there are articles available to buy there just now on your subject. The writer community is large and very experienced. Quality is high and you can make a request that authors will write for. You then get to pick what articles you want to buy from those submitted to your request. You can also specify an article length, approximate spend, keywords, phrases, etc.

If it doesn't work for you, it probably cost you nothing and you have no long term commitment to service.

You should search for 'walk through' writers. These are the gamers-cum-writers ( like me ) who love playings games like Wow and then to buy a new bunch of CDs they write.

I have used Elance and Odesk for finding writers. I have used Fiverr but I have been caught out using overseas writers and have ended up having to rewrite because of language difficulties. Make sure you check for the level of English/whatever language you are writing for when you employ someone.

 

You can find plenty of quality writers just here at digitalpoint. They don't charge too much either. But fiverr works fine too.

 

Try to post at odesk or at freelencer, here in DP you can find a lot of good writers here.

There have to be writers that frequent gaming forums who would be very familiar with WOW. I would suggest to try "Games" forum, you might find who you need by posting there.
