Where to find list of keywords?

Hi everyone - I'm brand new to this - so please bear with me... I want to do this from a market-oriented approach, but have yet to dive in and build a site... I know everyone wants to start with the high-paying keywords first - but all the wisdom I've read sez go with the $.50 to $1.00 range and you'll do better. My question is - where does one find such a list? I went to host298 and they have a list of the top paying keywords ...something insane like $60 all the way down to $2.50 ... but nothing along the lines of a buck.

Anyone know of good resources for this range of things?

Thanks to all in advance ...and I hope to learn a great deal from you - after a week of reading posts, this seems like the center of the universe for understanding this business (if not - let me know where that might be) ...

    Johnnie

Exactly, most people that build sites around high paying keywords just end up making MFA sites. Take some time, pick something you enjoy, and create a blog/site around that. It will take more time and patience, but I promise, in the end it will be worth it.

Find a subject your comfortable with, then go to overture bids, or adwords bids, and work out which associated words will pay off. Start with a subject you can enthuse over and build from there.

I actually started another post after taking your advice - it's about a niche I found but I'm unsure as to next steps...(not sure how to link to my post)...

    Thanks again ...

I'm not taking away from your database at all, it is a very useful tool for finding high paying keywords. However, it does illustrate the problem with creating sites around high paying keywords. Can you honestly imagine being able to create a meaningful, content rich site about "Kwik fit insurance" or "Hair laser removal virginia." I doubt many people would look forward to waking up everyday and writing about this topics. If you take the other route of picking something you enjoy, writing lots of original and interesting content about it, and patiently building your traffic, the end results will be much more satisfying.

YTou have raised a good point there Alfie. "Kwik fit insurance" is one of the words. Well the problem here is that 'Kwik Fit' is a trademark, and anyone who built a site around this phrase would, as soon as they started to rank, find the site closed down by the company.

If anyone has any doubt read the case of Tesco affiliate shutdown, The company, Elogicom, who were going through tradedoubler, was using domain names like 'tesco insurance' This guy was an OFFIAL AFILLIATE, and they sued him, and got their affiliate money back (they witheld payment) this amounted to almost £50,000 . So before you start attacking those trademarked phrase because there is 'hardly any competition', Step back and THINK why there is hardly any competition, they have all had cease and desists sent to them.

If you are going for Adsense there is nothing like high paying keyword, more than what every key word pays its the quality score that matters. you can never know what you will fetch.
