Seriously, I've got a very detailed business plan already written out. I've been looking very hard for investors for a few months now, but the only places I can think to post are webmaster forums like these. Having family invest is pretty much out of the question for personal reasons, and being a college student I have basically no credit and no collateral to get a loan from a bank. Also, this entire project is going to run about $5,000 and people have been suggesting I look for more money because I'd get more responses if I was looking for say, $15,000 (if that makes sense). I actually have one investor willing to put in $1500 so I still have to cover that other $4k. WHERE can I find these people? Like I said, I have a very detailed and solid business plan written out, you'd think they'd be jumping on the boat already, but no. It's tough to explain the concept without giving too much away on a public forum, but it's basically a fantasy sports game with a stock market twist. Although this could easily be expanded into other facets of entertainment and life. The majority of this is going to coding (though I have also considered getting coding in return for equity), design, and advertising.
Search for "business angels", thats the term for investors you're looking for. They usually keep a percentage (around 30%) of the business and sell it with profit after a year or so. You Business plan must be well documented though, whether its about $1 or millions of $$$. - It doen't shake the principles of the terms and conditions they may apply.
I've considered Angel Investors but after doing some research I saw most of them won't waste their time with something as small as $5K.
