Can anyone out there recommend some sites where you could use images without having to worry about someone coming back to you at a later time to sue you? Any suggestions?
I get a lot of mine from FreeFoto.com, who are now actually encouraging people to hotlink directly to their images. They've got some great images which can be used for non-commercial purposes with a link back. Unfortunately they began putting a garish watermark on their images a few months ago.
Yeah, it seems like Flickr has the best pictures, but it is a little confusing on when it is ok to use them and when it isn't? I notice sometimes the pics have the "blog this" on the picture... and then there is the creative commons thing. I think if the Flickr images are "bloggable" then maybe they are ok to use?
Awesome site! I think you've got a hot thing going there... specialize in a certain niche. You know, I think it might not be a bad idea to get a nice digital SLR, go around and take stock image shots... offer them for free, then make money from ad revenue? Just an idea
Ok, I've done some research and here is a list I have so far. Not sure yet which ones are the best: http://www.morguefile.com http://www.sxc.hu http://www.deviantart.com http://yotophoto.com http://imageafter.com http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/ http://www.unclesamsphotos.com/ http://pdphoto.org http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page http://everystockphoto.com/ http://www.microshots.org
yes thats best place tho find near to reality pictures, besides this i use my own exclusive pics also
I agree. Of that list Stock Xchng (Sxc.hu) is the best and most comprehensive so far for free images.
I think the the best royalty free selection photos for a site are from Istockphoto.com If you look through my site you will see the quality of the photos. It has the best resolution while maintaining smaller size dimensions. I would highly highly recommend it.
actually sxc is free and I use it every day, as do thousands of others all over the world. those caps are not mine btw, you can read the license agreement in its entirety, here: http://www.sxc.hu/txt/license.html
