Hi, I want to first clarify what I'm talking about.

I'm looking for images to use for building Wordpress websites specifically for the CSS of website template. This includes anything from search logo gifs/png, RSS logo, email logo, category tag logo, reply to comment logo, etc. Sort of like social media icons but for a wider range of image types.

I prefer PNG type files, but gifs will work too. I've tried Google and the top ranking pages are all royalty-free images and stuff which isn't what I'm looking for.

Anyone know of some good sites for this?

    thanks

For stocks you can use sxc.hu, for icons, I would highly recommend Iconfinder.net, it's down at the moment but it's a great site.

Also you can do an image search in Google. But remember, whatever you find, you should modify it to some extent, otherwise you can face Digital Rights issues for the unauthorized use.

I'm absolutely shocked you would recommend that in a public forum! You are actually encouraging copyright infringement, and to attempt concealing the crime with editing!

There's no need to steal someone else's property. I suggest doing any of the following:

1.) Create your own images from scratch (which is what I do.) You only need to invest some time and creativity.

2.) Hire someone else to create the graphics and images you need for your project. If you're not comfortable creating your own images, you can still get top quality work that exactly fits your particular needs this way.

3.) Pay a fair price to use existing images that someone else owns. This has the advantage of saving you some time, and it should be less expensive than hiring someone to create original images for you. There are several sources of stock images, and the prices vary widely. It might not cost as much as you think.

4.) Find someone willing to let you use their existing images for free, with their full approval. Even with "free images", there are still many sources to choose from. Here's a link to help you get started:

This is a search result for "free website graphics". I quickly checked a few of these, and there seems to be a lot of free material available.
    http://www.google.com/search?q=%22free+website+graphics%22&sa=Search+Google!&num=100

Please, don't do what shahilroyhere suggested. There's no good reason, nor any good excuse, to steal anyone's images or infringe upon someone's intellectual property rights.

Please feel free to download my high resolution textures. I adding them on a regular basis, so the collection increasing by the week.

You can not use somebody's intellectual property without permission, even if you modified it to a great extent.
