dedispec is ok. They have reasonable service for the price, with dedicated servers starting at <$50. -> be sure to search for reviews first though to make sure they are suitable for you.

WebhostUS is Subsidiary of WebhostUK, one of leading hosting service provider in USA. I have hosted with them from last 2 years and they have been more reliable hosting services providers I have found in last 7 years of my experience in Hosting industry.

I use QuickPacket and they are great. They trickle in their inventory so don't fear if their quantities say 0, it will likely update in a day or so. You can always shoot them an email requesting a product that is out of stock. There are several customizations and upgrades available, depending on the machine; including disks, space, bandwidth, control panels and OS. They have datacenters in Atlanta and Las Vegas, and their connection speeds are fast and consistent. Their customer service is fast, helpful and knowledgeable. This is an action oriented company, so don't look for frills in the website, or fast talk from the techs. They just do what needs to be done, and do it well.

What is the uptime? Say for instance Godaddy gurantees 99.5% uptime.

I got to dedispec and yes the prices are super awesome but that does not mean a whole lot if their always down.

Speeds are great! You have the option (on some packages) to choose a metered 1Gbps connection or an unmetered 100Mbps for $20/month upgrade. Here is a quick test I ran:

    --2013-11-01 11:37:57-- http://cachefly.cachefly.net/100mb.test
    Resolving cachefly.cachefly.net... 205.234.175.175
    Connecting to cachefly.cachefly.net|205.234.175.175|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
    Length: 104857600 (100M) [application/octet-stream]
    Saving to: â100mb.testâ

    100%[======================================>] 104,857,600 86.1M/s in 1.2s

    2013-11-01 11:37:58 (86.1 MB/s) - â100mb.testâ

Probably would have gotten better idea of speed from a larger file, but that's the only place I know that can handle a speed test from a 1Gbps port.

So what is the difference between a company like this and say godaddy? The customer service and thats it? Because their prices are better. Do you have full control of configuration?

Well, besides just NOT being GoDaddy lol Yes, their support and prices. They allow customization of disk type, size, space and config, of OS, of line speed, backup system and control panels. On the value priced servers, RAM is fixed. They will also take orders per your specs, however I don't know how they would price it since I've never asked.

No, I do not work for them LOL I just believe in passing on when I receive great service. They are not new, they've been around since 2003. You can shoot a ticket to their sales dept. and get an idea of availability:

    https://www.quickpacket.com/billing/submitticket.php?step=2&deptid=2

Ticket response times are pretty quick.

I would direct specific questions like that to their staff. Check their website for more info or put in a ticket.

We use softlayer directly, same company that hostgator uses, no need to pay the middle man, If you would like to talk with them, let me know and I will connect you with Shawn my guy at Softlayer.

He will take good care of you if you are serious.

Just to note, Hostgator does not use Softlayer anymore. They pulled out and are now in the EIG Datacenter in Provo, Utah.
