I see all of the specials around that offer .com s cheap if you host with them but what is the cheapest price that anyone has seen to buy .coms without being hooked into a service of some sort and where is it at??
You can see my post here if that helps: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=3907278&postcount=10 I stated there that godaddy don't offer whois protection within that price, but if you buy more than 3 domains at the same checkout there is free whois protection. Also there are some cheaper than this prices at yahoo domains or others, but most of them have expensive renewal prices, so I guess godaddy is still the best choice.
Some GoDaddy (Wild West Domains) resellers are currently offering .COM registration for $7.15 per year I believe.
Are GoDaddy Re-sellers safe to use?? What if the person quits paying for their Re-Seller account, what happens to my domains?? Does anybody know the answer to that?? Thanks so far!!
Yes they're perfectly safe to use - if the reseller ceases to renew their reseller account (which is unlikely) your domains and any other services will still continue to work, the only thing that might change is the branding that appears when you go to the reseller site (when it gets taken over by GoDaddy they may call it something else).
As stated in the previous post they go to a reseller holding account called "Domains Priced Right" As to your original question, I think 1and1.com is the cheapest as they are only $5.99 per year with free privacy and free 1GB email account. I have heard that their service isn't so great though. Or you can go with the Godaddy reseller MadDog Domains as they are only $6.95 per year.
I would avoid places like Yahoo to register names. I don't recall Netfirm being that great either. You usually get what you pay for with such places. I'd recommend Moniker as they are an industry leader, provide great service & security. The price for .com's are $6.95 if you get any sort of special pricing which is easy to do without making a deposit regardless of what you might see or hear.
I don't search for the cheapest place. Instead, I go with GoDaddy because they are very fast and reliable. Plus if I'll sell, 'everyone' has a GoDaddy account.
1and1.com is offering .com domain name at $5.99 and it come with free private registration. Have anyone use their service before?
Cheapest is not always the best. You can get domains from Yahoo for $2 I believe, but they suck. Go with a cheap reputable company like Godaddy, Namecheap, Moniker
Use Enom with the uh..super reseller account (i cant remember the name). Its only a $6k investment though... but then you get them for $6 a piece or something.
