If you are looking to buy gold for investment purpose and not hold it physically, you can surely buy gold etfs or its futures from a commodity broker!

i remember there was e-gold before it was basically like investment and your balance would increase/decrease based on the gold value but i think its shut now due to some legal issues

 

Its better to withdraw money in your bank and then buy gold from a good shop near your home in your city.

May be the one you buy online won't be good.

By buying etfs and futures, you are able to buy gold and yet not have to face the hassle of holding it physically. Hence one does not have to worry about its quality!

e-gold use to work on gold standards but its kind of shut now due to legal issues

 

If one is looking to buy gold with paypal funds... then I guess this appears to be the best option as any commodity broker would not encourage getting funds from Paypal instead of a bank account.

Just transfer the paypal funds to your bank account. Wouldn't that be easier?
