I would like to buy some images to use on my site so that I'm not violating anyones copy right... I'm new at this so any pointers would be great! Thanks!
You have to get permission from the copyright holder, which is typically the photographer, or photographer agency. And getting permission, will cost you money. Check out sites like ew.com and how they show credits underneath all big images, like: ew.com/ew/article/0,,20177107,00.html That particular Michael Jackson image is from: pro.corbis.com/

Corbis and Getty Images probably have celebs; You can try sxc.hu and istockphoto.com although I don't know if they have celebs.
It can be costly depending on what you are looking to do mate. Some of the sites are subscription, or you have to be a member of press, or some thing along those lines. Some you can buy as described above. Good luck mate.
You will spend a lot of money on this. 90% of celebrity sites you see don't have the rights to the pictures so just jump on the bandwagon..lol
Thanks for every ones replies. Yes images are very expensive... It's a real shame most companies want xx per image, no wonder why so many webmasters do not buy full rights to them! My idea was to design "fan sites" for a few celebs, I have a content writer who enjoys researching/writing on celebs and I was going to work on getting the sites up. As xx per pic, that would mean having a budget of around $300 to $600 per site: which is just not possible. Shame.
