Posting in Forums and blogs is a great way to get started building links. Really the best part about it is because they are free.

 

You can do link building, Article Syndication, Directory submission, Forum participation and social networking and book marking for building links.

 

I can't agree more.
Signatures, comments, blogger, socila bookmarking, open directories....

 

This forum is as good as any to start building links. There is a good flow of people and high pr (although maybe not on these internals). Good luck!

Depends on the forum I think. Some I know are do-follow and others are no-follow. Just get the firefox plugin to check links for no-follow.

You'll get backlink and off course traffics

Post on good Forums, write Blogs, directories submissions are best place to start building links.

 

find sites with a similar niche to your own, through do follow blogging and do follow forum posting. Also exchange links with sites in a similar niche to your own and post articles in article directories

 

Build links on relevant and DoFollow sites. Google gives more value on the quality compared to those irrelevant sites that you are getting. Quality is better than quantity right?
