no, sorry..not for promoting a website,
i mean if you had for example a car repair service..

you would put it in the newspaper, possibly print some leaflets for distribution, and stick it online with yellow pages...
where else online would/could you advertise it?

you could submit your URL to a lot of directores, try to get high search result rankings, those types of things.

A friend of mine advertises his business at gumtree.com ... it's a classifed ads site and he's had a few calls from people who have seen the ad ... might be worth a stab!

If you use newspaper, the small (inexpensive) classifieds seem to be the only thing worth the money, these days. The internet is driving newspaper readership downhill FAST! But classifieds still seem to do OK, if they're not too expensive.

Adwords can be targeted to your area. If you don't have a website for your business, you can usually find some cheap "business card" websites through a google search. Then you can discover Adwords...just don't spend more than a few cents per click...and make sure your keywords are highly targeted (i.e., use "Yourtown Auto Repair" instead of "Auto Repair"). That way you won't get a lot of wasted clicks form people on the other side of the US.

Check out the radio stations in your area. People who are having auto problems are usually listening while driving. Use at least 4 or 5 spots per day to get the "frequency" you need to make people "react" to your message. If you can't afford to do this continually, consider one week a month...then let it rest for a few weeks.

    Hope this helps!
