Here's the background... 1) I have one website 2) I created TWO campaigns, using different keyword themes but going to the same/similar URL 3) I've found that one campaign has $0.02 min bids, really good CTR and consequently has much better bid pricing 4) The other campaign is good but not as good. $0.02 min bids, OK CTR and bid pricing Now, the question... 1) I want to add more keywords for that website. 2) These new keywords don't match either campaign's keyword theme (so is a new line of relevant keywords) 3) I suspect that these new keywords will have # impressions and CTR closer to the not-so-good campaign. What's the best thing to do? Add the new keywords (in a new adgroup) to which campaign? Or create a new campaign altogether? Basically I'm wondering if adding new keywords to an existing good campaign will give it a boost? Or whether (over the long run) it will bog down my good campaign? Or whether it doesn't matter at all...? Thanks in advance!
Personally I would create a new adgroup to test these new keywords out. if they perform better than the other adgroup you can then pause or delete the old one.
Not sure if you understood my question. I have 3 groups of keywords. They're all unique, and I wish to use all 3 groups. Group A is in Campaign A, performing very well. Group B is in Campaign B, performing ok. The question is where do I put Group C? Campaign A, B or C (create a new campaign).
Well, if this new group of keywords is going to have the same campaign factors as one of your other campaigns: the network it's delivered through(content, search and partners), same geographic location, budget delivery method, ad scheduling, ad serving will stay the same, position preference will stay the same, etc., etc. then you can just make it another ad group of one of your current campaigns and up your campaign budget. Although since you're already splitting up your campaigns you might want to just make another campaign to make it easier on you. However, there are limits as to how many campaigns you can have. You can have up to 25 campaigns in an account and 100 ad groups in each campaign although if you request more sometimes they will allow you to have more. Hope this answers your question.
You can have more than 100 ad groups *checks* -yep, I've got 146 running in one campaign, 139 in another. I never asked, it just growed.
