Where should I put a gadget/tool - new website or existing?

    Hello,

I have a simple gadget that I thing people would be interested in for a specific hobby. I have a website that I would like to add it too, but I am wondering if I should get a website that is "gadget".com. It is available and a good keyword.

The advantage of doing this is that I can simply have the gadget on the website and can submit it to a lot of different websites that may look at my primary site as a Competitor. But this one, they may not and would consider adding the link to the gadget.

My concern is that the gadget alone might not be good enough to be picked up and ranked well by a search engine. There will be little to no content on the website. I would probably include a little content, some ads and some links. But I am certain it would be useful and different from similar things out there...

So, wondering if anybody has any thoughts...

    Thanks!

Having only one gadget on a domain is quite "strange", especially if your gadget is "small". If your gadget has quite complicated functions or an arsenal of functions it might be worth to put it in a separate domain, who knows it will rank high and you could just do anything with that new domain.

However, if it's just a simple gadget putting it in your existing domain would "sound" right.
