    Interesting stuff, I have had an experience with online flight booking, and while our site got 10 000 visitors a day those times, the effort did not pay off. Reason, since there are only a few airticket booking service providers (Orbitz), they keep commission very low: $6-7 per flight booked. As a result, many bookings - money for beer and ice-cream.
    Imho, if you get decent provider with high commission rate, then do it, but implement it yourself, you get a brand which people would trust.
