Where on my page would you place ads?

OK....I am soon tearing this page apart and reorganizing it. My questions are as follows (please, serious replies are appreciated)...

#1. Should that large rectangle be moved to the right? Or deleted altogether?
#2. Put a banner ad across the top?
#3. Just embed 4 horizontal (728X90) above the fold?
#4. Note my daily image....put a skyscraper on both sides?
#5. They say ONLY ONE ad is best, so is large rec my best choice?

If you are an experienced ad layout person, and want to show your own samples and then make suggestions, I am open to hear them?

I can't believe you have difficulty dealing with this considering you are a veteran here. But anyway, placement is good. Just add 1 leaderboard on top of your navigation link. that's it. The adsense box at the left is fine considering that's part of heatmap. Add another 468x60 banned under the picture (below your caption)

    Check out this image:

The stronger the color, the better adsense ads placement.

Really no difficulty Peter! LOL! Just want to get some different viewpoints. I could easily slap down some code here and there - but recently have noticed a drop in earnings on the index page so think maybe adding a new look and ad layout may help . . . I am seriously looking at your suggestions! Glad to hear your word "veteran"! I do realize I've gotten gray on this forum! LOL!

Great seeing that heat map too Fr@nc!, I certainly have tried it - but noticed it to be difficult using it as an actual template to go by when I use tables to lay out my pages (I like FrontPage) and then need to see where I can form "cells", then size each cell for an appropriate ad and so forth....that gets daunting when trying to follow the suggested heatmap....although yes, I've had ads in about EVERY position

BTW....that RED square above words "primary content" would pretty much show that ad block BELOW the fold on my particular page layout (considering my daily cartoon)

Peter...if I have two large recs like that, and a skyscraper to right side of page....does it really improve CTR? I could put my daily image below the recs maybe? Now you have me curious . . .

I normally make my pages 760px wide. Like my current index page is (I use FP). So when I lay out the new one, I will have my logo on top left, about 4 or 5 lines of descriptive introductory text and just below that, a table tohold two 300X250 recs side by side and directly next to those on left, would be a 160X600 skyscraper (totals 760px wide total)

directly underneath both recs will be my 500px wide daily image. I woonder if 3 ads like that will work OK now? Or be too much? Some say ONLY ONE rec pulls higher paying advertisers (??)
