I have a site that grossed about $180k last year and netted about $155k. I am interested in selling it but I have had very little luck on the forums finding a real buyer. Anyone had any luck selling high end sites somewhere?
I have tried sitepoint but after you fall off of the first page you get very little respones. I have never had any luck with ebay on the high end sites. They are great for the cheap ones but most of them have not money.
You can try websiteauctionhub.com, right now the listings are free and you get site wide advertisement.
I'd suggest a reputable broker. They will often be able to generate a "warm market" list of potential buyers just from people they've had previous dealings with.
Thanks guys for all the advice. The problem I have run into with listing the site is it does require some type of technical know how and I think that scares off a lot of potential buyers even though I have offered to stay on and train the new owner or an employee for six months for free. Brain123, The reason I want to sell it is it does require about 10-20 hours a week in work unless you hire an employee and I have another business and I am about to open a third business and I just do not have the time to work on it now.
The draw back I have found with brokers is most want 10% which comes to about $15k and all they really do is advertise it in the same places I can advertise it myself for much less.
