I put my adsense ads on top of my pages(middle). But I am thinking about to move it around to improve my CTR. Where is the best place to put the ads?

Remember you can put 3 adsense codes on a page, so play around and put them around your page. have one on the top, one in the middle, and one in the bottom

more ads aren't always better, as they can bring down your EPC.

this is very general, but I'd suggest at the very least, above the fold and close to the content that the user will be checking out/reading

don't treat it as a banner. mid-article works in some cases.

Make sure the color blends with the site.

tuning, I don't like to post my url in the forum...

Thank you all for the advice. I see some site blending ads inside an article. I will try that and post the result here later.

fryman, EPC is short for earn($$) per click.

I second Disgust's advice... try to integrate your ads with the main text content of the page. I even like to have the text wrap around my ads so they are embedded in the content. Much like you see in main stream news sites, etc.

    Good luck.

You can also experiment with rotating color schemes. I first suggest you create 4 custom color schemes set through 'custom pallettes' that color co ordinate with your site. A little spice and variety never hurt nobody ;-)

I tried it before. It didn't make much difference. Thanks anyway.

Put on top, one inside your content and one on the right. More ads, more clicks and more money.

More ads also bring down your CTR ;)

I find its best to try not to overwelm the user with ads, because then they will just do there best to ignore them, and you wont get any clicks.

Each ads block counts as 1 impression. So if you have 3 blocks on a page, when the page is viewed, adsense records 3 impressions.

    Yup, what he said ^

But, sometimes, you can make up for it with more clicks, but most of the time you can't. (in my experiences anyway)

That sucks. You put more ads for Google, you CTR shrinks.

I found that putting the ads amongst the content works out pretty well - I've seen some good results. Got the idea (or at least tried it) after seeing that done in an e-newsletter I get. I was always wanting to click on the ads so I figured hey, why not try the same technique. I'm pretty happy with it.

So like if I have a column of next, I'd put a horizontal ad box two or three paragraphs down (above the fold if I can) and then have the rest of the content/article.

    Good luck.

Hmmmm. Interesting .... I might try this on some of the pages with lots of text on my website.

Re the newsletter, I hope for the sake of the person sending the newsletter that the ads were not Google's as it's against Adsense TOS to include ads in emails.

No it wasn't Google ads in the newsletter -- but I liked the idea of where they placed their ads so I did it with my Google ads.
