    Totally agree with you! :)

My heart is with my family and friends, so when they are near me I'm happy and it's the best place in the world.

...yepp...your love in its broadest sense -- for a person, people (family) or just a place.

What I'm trying to say is that 'best' is not geographical - there is no best place for all people, it's individual - depends on you!

Hey hey --I like that:D You are 1005 right. Infact most Latin American countries have beautiful chicks--what with so many winning Miss World and Miss Universe pageants:D

But if it is serious-- I think --Acording to UN Human Development Index
Canada has been ranking first for a long time. Not far behind are New Zealand and Australia along with Scandinivian countries.

If given a choice-- I would like to live in New Zealand --small population/amazing scenic beauty/highly developed infrastructure and over-all peaceful:D

In defense of this thread - I thought it might make people appreciate where they are.

I think 81 got it right - if you have money any place is great.

Personally I'd like to be so rich I could start my own country. Then that would be the best place in the world.

    Brazil, without a doubt.

I am a Brit and have lived in many a country as well as visiting several others, but opted to settle in Brazil. The women, the weather, the parties, it's just a cool place to be.

And money really isn't that important because it is a relatively cheap place to live.

The US is OK for now. Dream location would probably be New Zealand. Never been there but there's just that air of purity and romanticism. Maybe Switzerland would be a close second.

The best place to live IMO is in and around the Great Smoky Mountains.

Why? It's beautiful and relaxing. It settles my nerves when I am surrounded by nature and wildlife.

Canada because of its diverse multicultural area, and it's one of the least densely populated areas in the world. Not to mention that the weather is always good.
