Where is my domain?

I purchased a domain last summer (wickey.com), through snapnames. Once the domain was won, it was awarded to me at mydomain.com. A couple months later, once I could transfer the domain, I transfered it over to my godaddy account.

So, the dilema is that when I look at a whois, I see that it is at godaddy, and it is listed in my godaddy account. But, mydomain.com insists they still have it, it is listed in my account there, and scheduled to expire soon. I have emailed and called them, and they keep telling me it will expire unless I renew it.

    What should I do?

Let me say I don't know. Have you contacted Godaddy and asking them? Sounds to me like mydomain may be trying to pull a slick one to get it back.

Good luck and keep us posted on situation. I would like to know what transpires.

Thanks for the post. I didn't think of contacting godaddy. I will email them tonight.

Go to networksolutions.com and do a whois lookup. That'll give you an authoritative answer on where it's registered as well as the expiry date.

Looks like GoDaddy almost for sure.
    http://whois.domaintools.com/wickey.com

However, this always seems to happen to me as well, as because there is no physical "possession" of a domain name, if the registry (In this case verisign) experiences a 'hiccup' (especially with smaller registrars that snapnames always seems to dump names to... the b@$$t@rds), more than one registrar could retain "control" over the domain, effectively.

A more definitive test, go to GoDaddy and renew the domain name for some more years, and make sure the whois reflects this change. Then email support so you have something written on file, as phonecalls aren't worth jack if push comes to shove.

    BOL.

Thanks I emailed godaddy, and they confirmed they have the domain, and confirmed the expiration date. I checked a couple of different whois, including network solutions, and the expiration date all line up with the godaddy account, so I feel pretty comfortable, plus I have their emails stating they have it and all is ok.

    Thanks for your help.
