Where is information stored on a computer?

Where exactly is data stored besides the hard drive?

I had my laptop screen go bad and need to send it in for a warranty repair. I used this laptop for business purposes, so it has credit card and bank info on it. I really don't want someone stealing my info, so how can I prevent this when I send it in?

They told me I can take my hard drive out first and just send the rest of the laptop. Can't people get your data from the RAM somehow as well?

Your sensitive data will not be able to be accessed from RAM.

Your information is stored on hard drive.

RAM acts as temporary storage medium and is used only by computer memory. It's deleted, when the computer is switched off.

who told you that ram stores data :D ram is actually used to store those data which is being processed by CPU within few seconds if you store all data then look into your browser delete all stored pasword. clear history , delete all stored files in it . then right click on c drive . select properties , then click on disk clean up it may take 10 sec. then select all and clean everything . that's it
