i know that it is impossible for you religious dudes to convert me and impossible for me to convert you, so we will stop barking up that tree.
but going back to my original thread, nobody has really answered my question.
yes you have told me about the second coming, and god's big plan, but why would a god of infinite love and compassion watch whilst so much suffering goes on in the world and not intervene as he was famous for in the days of the bible.
why were all the prophets sent thousands of years ago, why not now, and i am not talking about the second coming here, but of the kind of prophets the world seemed to be knee deep in back in biblical times. why talk to so many people in biblical times and show them visions, why part the red sea, move mountains etc., why was god only proactive back then?
you say that god is with us now, yet if he were performing the kind of epic miracles that were reportedly performed in the bible i am damned sure that such occurences would make it onto BBC world news.

God went on vacation and missed his flight home.

    Nah, I dunno.

Maybe he's just kinda slow. There's like, one God and billions of people. He might be a little behind in his work? And I'm sure he has plenty of spam prayers he has to sort through....

Or maybe he's sleeping right now. I heard something before that like 1000 years is one day in God's life. So, if he sleeps for roughly half of it, then he could be resting right now.

But who knows. Send him an email and ask where he is.

IN regards to Satan ruling us. It is in fact written in the Bible itself. 2 Corinthians 4:1-4 says "That is why, since we have this ministry according to the mercy that was shown us, we do not give up; 2 but we have renounced the underhanded things of which to be ashamed, not walking with cunning, neither adulterating the word of God, but by making the truth manifest recommending ourselves to every human conscience in the sight of God. 3 If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through. 5 For we are preaching, not ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as YOUR slaves for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God is he who said: “Let the light shine out of darkness,” and he has shone on our hearts to illuminate [them] with the glorious knowledge of God by the face of Christ."

John 14:30 Even Jesus points to Satan "I shall not speak much with YOU anymore, for the ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me,"

and 1 John 5:19 "We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one."

Our entire oganization (7 million currently and growing rapidly) is studying verse by verse the book of Revelation. There are many things that are not dissimilar to the Book of Daniel. The fact is the book of Revelation is for out time, what is known as "The Last Days". For me personally, I have a good understanding of what it says.

In regards to the antichrist. This is a basic definition "“He that is not on my side is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters.” (Luke 11:23) Here Jesus proclaims that all who oppose him and the divine purposes he supports fall into the category of the antichrist."

Firstly, I am not here to convert you. Make no mistake about that. I am here to set some matters straight in regards to Bible truths and set them apart from Bible untruths.

Secondly, the prophets of old were used to give warnings for people of their time that God will act unless you do things HIS way. As you can read, MANY people did not take heed of those many warnings and they perished. However, those warnings are an example for us. The prophets such as Daniel, Isaiah, Amos, Micah, John and even Jesus himself gave clear warnings for our day. These warnings have been mentioned long ago to give people time to learn the truth about God and his purposes so that can make a decision to either act on the information they receive or decline it. Those warnings are no different to the very clear message our people offer to people of all nations, tribes and tongues. It is a message of hope, love and warning. Time is running out. The signs that Jesus, John and Paul spoke of are very clearly present around us. It really shows how kind and patient God is to allow this system to keep going so to give everyone the opportunity to know him and do something about it.

Cheap SEO Services - I think the scriptures you've quoted don't back up the view that Satan 'rules' us. My bible (New English Bible) says 'god of this passing age'. Extrapolating that to 'Satan rules us' is a bit like saying hydrocarbons are the same as carbohydrates. Still, people have always argued about biblical interpretations: the difference between Protestants and Catholics can (almost) be reduced to the placing of a comma! In less enlightened times we'd have burnt each other at the stake.

With regard to the book of Revelation - well we'll see. I personally give it as much weight as the book of Mormon. As you are probably aware it's very inclusion in the bible was disputed. I support Thomas Jefferson's view that it's the 'ravings of a mad man'.

Fair comment. I respect your views. However, I have conducted a lot of thorough research and analysis of the entire Bible (not just the NWT either!). I see it fairly clearly in regards to what I said. Obviously, there is more to it than what I have posted here. It would take much much more to reason with people successfully and I don't have the time or effort to do that online. Mainly because I do it face to face almost every day.

    Regards,

    Col :)

Thank you. In return I respect yours - and of course you may well be right! Interestingly having looked up that passge I read the whole epistle and I'll quote a part from near the end:

"... agree with one another, live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you."

    Quite appropriate!
