Where is best place to park domains?

Discussion in 'Domain Names' started by domaindigger, Apr 26, 2006.

I've heard about several places to receive revenue while domain is parked.
Any suggestions on the best place to park domains?

    Thanks

    Thanks I'll check'em out

Can you explain the revenue part? I'm sure this may seem elementary but I am learning this part of domains and I want to do it right and learn from someone who knows the steps.

    I appreciate it

Why do you recommend Sedo Skribblez? Have you tried several other parking services and found they pay a higher rate per click? Just wondering because I'm doing research and most people say Sedo don't pay as much as other parking services. Thanks :)

You can try namedrive.com. I've heard quite a number of good comments about them.

if you don't have any high traffic name. don't try, it is just a waste of time if your whole profolio has less 1000 type in a month

Like samskpunk said, you won’t make much unless you have some heaving hitting domains, but I do park my domains if I am not developing them. Better then just sitting there I guess.

f you have a cheap reseller hosting account you can install wordpress, make a couple of posts and find/buy a cheap low PR link in about 20 minutes. Then revisit the site every couple of weeks and post a short comment. The cost is almost nothing but the site gets indexed and the meter on age starts running. Long term I think that has more value than a few pennies from parking.

For what it's worth, I'm starting to like domainhop.com. The templates they use are different, which is cool, plus they pay a fraction just for impressions. I was finding that with some of my domains people were 'looking but not touching'.

To be honest, I found that with sedo.com some of the changes that I was applying were slipping through the cracks, so to speak. I keep them listed there for sale where appropriate, if only for the fact that I like the idea of their escrow service. I say 'idea', as I haven't used it yet :)

Which makes me ask, then... what escrow services have you used and which would you use again?

Hi Twistmyarm thanks for the reviews. Does doaminhop.com pay for clicks on your domain page is that how it works? Do you get any traffic stats to help show domain value?

I will have to try the wordpress idea. I am currently seeking a new reseller host.

I like my host now but I have such a hard time installing scripts b/c the server doesn't coincide with the chmod of the scripts mostly 777 and I am getting frustrated with the installations.

    Thanks again

domainhop.com pays for clicks, yes, but they also pay for impressions as well (naturally, a lot less!). Plus, you can set each domain up to:
    a) display (or not) links to your other domains that you are parking there
    b) have a popup with either another parked domain of yours or simply more ads
    c) show whether or not the domain is for sale

They share the revenue from the popups, too.

They give 'summarised stats' and 'detailed stats'. The summarised ones let you pick two different timeframes and they show views, clicks, CTR, revenue and revenue per unique for each domain that was active in either of those two selected timeframes.

I haven't used the detailed domain report yet, but it lets you pick a date, a 'from' hour and a 'to' hour and one of your domains, plus the option to have the report emailed to you.

Hey, and I just saw that they have a referral program :) Not sure of the etiquette regarding this, but if you decide to join up, feel free to use this link: http://domainhop.com/util/init_referral.cool?refid=411504

Anyway, go there and have a look at the templates they offer. There's not as many as some offer, but they're definitely more exciting than the Sedo ones in my opinion!

I need to park my pages where I can get the most traffic and highest commission as well as advertise my sites for free. Probably to much to ask
