Where Is Best Place To Advertise A Game?

Hey All,

I have not signed up with Google, Y! or MSN yet as I think there may be better places to advertise?

Does anyone know where I can find a good place to advertise a browser based game? Am I best just trying Google/Yahoo/MSN?

Ya its best to try on Forums thats discuss games or even communities and group likeee in Orkut and Face book communities and Groups you can do good advertising for your browser based games and youll see how fast your msg reacher from here to there

don't think it'll be cheap to advertise through Google AdWords, YahooMarketing or MSN...
Have an idea that you have to try PPC search engines!
Register like an advertiser, upload some money and start your ads showing -))
in contrast to Google/Yahoo/MSN - PPC SE will have lower bids IMHO

 

I like the idea of getting into the forums where all the games are talked about. I am fairly new to the online game market so what is the best way to find the biggest forums / groups?

Never even thought about Facebook - I think I will give that a bash and I found Advertise your game shortly after I posted this - Lots of impressions not that many clicks.

Really, it is. You go to the first on the list and do a little search, see if
it fits, if not, you go to the second and so on.

 

I would advertise with banner ads on a gaming forum. They can pull in a ton of visitors if you do it right.

 

Make a demo game where the user can only do the first 2 levels then redirected to a buy now page?

If you're looking for free SEO traffic, the best place to advertise is games forums and game site blogs that allow comments.

 

I'm not sure if you are trying to sell a game or if you are trying to get traffic to your site to play the game. If you are trying to drive traffic, try arcadeaffiate dot com and arcadetraffic dot com.

 

Forums and you can always try second tier search engines + Facebook and MySpace.

You must try Google Adsense, because that is the most popular PPC program, with 99% targeted customer..

A lot of well-meant but crappy advices

I have spent two years figuring out how to advertise such a game and I will give you a little advice.

First of all - toplists! This is your very first job. Find each and every toplist for persistent browser based games. Believe me - there are many and a lot of new ones popping up each day. My game is currently on more than 150 toplists which drastically increases your SEO and it is completely free when you put voting links on your site.

Forget about forums, blogs and the like. It surely does improve your SEO but it takes a hell of a time and it doesn't pay off as well as other means of advertising.

Forget about Facebook. Too costly for a browser based game - i expect you wouldnt want to pay more than say 3$ CPA appx?

Start using adwords, yahoo and forget anout the generic terms - way too expensive. Build a program mainly consisting of long tail terms.

Use the Google content network!!! You can find very relevant clicks for as low as 0,01-0,03 CPC if you finbd the right sites.

And then start searching for game advertising networks. Advertiseyourgame is great but others are better. I don't mind revealing all my knowledge even though we are competitors Here are a few:

Besides, Bidvertiser has very good conversions in their entertainment zone.
