    First Post (Newbie)

I have launched a site about three month ago. I have since submitted it to over 500 free directories. When I do a linkdomain:www.mydomain.com in yahoo I only see about 55 links to my website.

Could this be that I have added to many links to fast?

Or maybe yahoo just hasn’t noticed the links to my domain?

If it is that I got to many links to fast how can I correct this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Have you checked to see whether your site has been given links by all 500 directories? Maybe only 55 have given you a link.

Many of the free directories don't have their subpages cached by SE's - a directory may have given you a link but the SE's might not be aware of it.

I've had the same problem I submitted to 300 or so directories only to get about 15 links. It could be for several reasons. The majority of the pages that they put you on aren't normally crawled frequently, sometimes you are on page 2 in a category deep into the directory. Some of these directory owners also get swamped with submissions and only place people in their directory if they reciproricate despite what they say. Getting 100-200 links out of 500 is good. Even 55 is pretty good.

    1) there're lot of dead directories,

    2) and links in some directories are buried so deep and won't get crawled by search engines.

    3) Some directories aren't strong enough to get more page indexed

    4) some directories won't give direct links (won't be seen by search engines)

We have script to track directories whose links are picked up by search engines.

For one site I submitted to 100 free directories on July 27, it got 40 approvals already.

this could be a 'sandbox' effect where your links are known to yahoo or google but are not shown on your backward links

Does the all those 500 directories that you have submitted to are approve or just waiting to be reviewed?
Anyway just be patient maybe yahoo hasnt indexed some of it.

oh 500 directories.. cool 55 back links are not bad tho (my opinion)
If you don't mind and if its not against the rules in here let me know is there a place/page where i can find 500 directorie's link or could you provide me some good resources as i already have a script installed on my web for link exchange.

    thanks
