Where is a 'hacker' when you need one?

Was just reading this article: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2003/04/17/should_you_hire_a_hacker/

What is your opinion? Would you hire one to test out the integrity of your servers and see if your server management company is doing a good job?

Also, it got me curious. If one decides to get one, where should he go searching for one? Surely hackers don't post out their resumes or give out ads in the papers?

I would just go to 4chan and dare one to take down my site, if it can be done, then they would manage. I would offer offer a few bucks for them to tell me how they did it!

Well I think you have to know a friend of you who is a hacker or maybe know a friend of you who knows a hacker. but I think I once came across some security jobs in a freelancers directory but I'm not too sure about that.

Ethical hacking is good and there are a few courses available on ethical hacking so I am sure there would be some way you can get hold of such hackers. :)
