Where is a good place to get appraisals?

It seems like any decent / reputable appraisal is going to cost half of what a sites worth. I'm wondering if there is a place that analyzes sites almost using a formula of how many pages are indexed, PR, traffic, etc. to give a fair appraisal for cheap/free. The trouble is people buying the sites, don't seem to trust a 'free' appraisal. Any Ideas?

...You can always try free appraisals... Usually people post facts to backup the number they say.

 

I would post a question in a forum of the relavent niche... If i had a gaming domain, i would post it in a gaming related forum Potential customers + relavant appraisals
