    Hi,

    My inbound links as reported by Yahoo site explorer have dropped from over 5000 to 7.

    Any ideas as to why this is?

    Thanks

    This could have been due to the change of how Yahoo places sites in its search results. Or it could have been a reason of the sites linking to you have dropped their PR or have been penalized in any way.

    Thanks for the reply.

    It is puzzling and what's more puzzling is that my site is ranking better than ever and is receiving more traffic than ever.

    :confused::confused:

    do you see something simliar on Google?
    could it just be something in the way Yahoo reports inlinks to you?

    if you have been posting on sites that have many pages this is possibly why links have plummeted, you need to find out where the other links are form and if the original quantity included spam links.

    I believe it has to do with the end to the Yahoo Site Explorer. There are many rumors that it is going away very soon, without warning. It could be that they are slowly transitioning off of the service.
