Where else can I find good directories for linking?

I want to add my site good directories for linking back to my site. Where is the must adds? I did dmoz.org and many of the majors... but where are the free directories with high pr's?

i keep a list of free web directories.

 

With the way it's ranking these days, I don't know how much longer Jayde (www.jayde.com) will be a free directory ... but it's free as of today.

If you're not already listed there, I recommend adding your site. They'll actually give you a profile page with multiple links to your site. Be sure to include a short keyword phrase with your website name: "My Site Name - Custom Widgets"

If a directory is free, I would not worry too much about PR. Just submit to as many as you can. There are some lists here,

I took a look at the jayde directory and noticed quite a lot of keyword stuffing in the titles and descriptions, see here. It doesn't make the directory look too professional.

PR is worthless when deciding on what FREE directories to submit to... The reasons:

1) Most people use home page Page Rank as the indicator as to if a directory is good or not. This is wrong... see if the internal pages actualy have PR.

2) Sometimes the best directories to submit to are the new ones with no PR yet. You will get good positioning and if the directory owner stands behind it you may actualy get on a site and page that receives decent Page Rank with time.

3) A lot of good directories are free when they first come out but quickly switch to paid when they get good Page Rank.

4) It is common for a person to buy a domain with good PR and use that to promote their site. The problem is that as soon as Google gets wind that the site is not the same that Page Rank will disappear.
