Where does that one sock go to when you try to take it out of the dryer?

It seems that there is always one sock missing out of the dryer. Where does it go? I think that one sock had enough of your stinky feet and escaped out of a loop hole inside the dryer, you or nobody knows about. Or it just disintegrates because it's so dirty or worn out. Where do you think it goes?
