Other than this forum, where do you sell text links? Any positive/negative comments about those services are also appreciated..

Two of them are listed below: (I did not use them yet, so comments about them are welcome.)

    adbrite.com
    text-link-ads.com

I'm usually selling text links through forum only because there is a human interaction here. Which I believe to be a good thing.

My best link sales come right off my own sites.

I've used AdBrite for about a year. They're streaky in their link sales and they are cheap, in my opnion. It takes me a while to make any money with them.

I'm new to Text-Link-Ads. I have heard high recommendations about them. But so far I'm not impressed. I signed up a PR3 site and am yet to hear one way or the other if it has been approved. I signed up a PR4 site and got it approved in a day. I signed up a PR5 site and it was instantly approved. I thought that all very suspect.

On the PR4 site, I placed the code and had an ugly "Text Link Ad" box on my site for 24 hours then it went away. On the PR5 site it is still up nearly six days later.

My attempts to communicate with TLA have yielded nothing and I admit to being ready to forget the whole thing. In the age of the Internet that kind of lag is simply unacceptable.

I think it is a good thing too. But I tend to think that most here undervalue links. I'm not pleased with the link offers I get from DP. Webmasters tend to buy low-sell high. LOL! So do I.

This just isn't a good market for my kind of sites, I guess.

How many times do we have to repeat this?

Do NOT post in B/S/T if you are not selling something! Are you posting your car on eBay just to ask where you should sell your car? NO!

Yeah, the prices here don't compare to what the text-link-ads calculator says the space is worth!

I set up with text link brokers and was doing like $50/link/month on a PR5 and they found people to pay that. But here its more like $8.

I use text link ads on one of my pr5 sites. Took a while to fill the space, but they keep it filled. I do nothing now for that space except get money sent to my paypal account once a month. It's always filled now. I don't use it for everything though.

I don't use any of those services. I sell ads directly from my site and on forums like Digital Point. As some have said, the ads may sell for more at places like Text-Link ads, however I can't believe that they take out 50% of all of your sales. That is outrageous. I make more selling my ads privately. I keep 97% of my sales money, about 3% goes to Paypal fees.

Yeah, but for a lot of people, what would you rather have:

    50% of $1500/mo

    OR

    $0/mo

We have the largest database of advertisers, both small and corporate. A lot of the major advertisers will not bother to go through individuals and will only go through a broker such as ourselves. In the end, you actually earn more money when using a service such as ours.

True, I might want to add that what it matters is blog strength and not necessary PR and apparently they only look at that in my blog. I say sell your own links.

I think people understand the benefits of your service, the thing that people on DP often comment on is the 50%. Maybeyou could clarify what the 50% goes into or is it set that high because you can at the moment due to limited competition?
