where do you learn you webmaster's skills

There are many professionals in internet market, such as graphic/web design, email market, affiliates, seo, forum promotion, content writing, blog promotion and many other webmaster related work and position.

I know many of you learn the skills at school or in training programs.
However there are still lots of people who teach themselves by learning tutorial online .
I am one of them . I learn seo, web design by myself, not at school .
How about you, dp guys ?

 

Trying things online has made me learn lots of new things

 

Self tutoring and later experience would come at work

 

I agree with SuperexX that just trying things is a great way to learn. Simply setting up a couple of websites etc, I quickly learned a lot about site hosting, which led me onto many other things. Mainly I like to concentrate on the writing, and because of that I believe that it is also best to read actual books as well as some websites. There is SO much information out there on the internet, but sometimes it is a lot easier to read it all together in one place written by someone who really knows their stuff. That is how I have learned about SEO, and am still continuing to learn about writing.

 

I learned those skills by trial and error, there is no better teacher than experience

 

by visiting webmaster forums like DP, sitepoint, webmaster-talk, dnlodge, ...
Being a webmaster for over 2 years, I get my own experiences too.

I always believe in schools/training programs they teach us only limited stuff(what's there in the books) but in this competitive world we gotta think out of the BOX to succeed hence u gotta learn it the smart way

 

So far, the vote result is quite interesting, all of the people learnt their skills by themselves . lol

 

This is good habit.We should learn each and every moment.

 

What I know I have learned in the web, now days there are so many good places where you can learn for free, school is good but I dont belive they teach you everything you need to know so hands on is the best experience you can have.

Online learning from the internet is the best way to acquire webmaster skills and I did so

 

I learned almost all I know myself. I did take one class, but it doesn't really count because I forgot it all and had to learn it all over again.

 

I learned myself. I started with other forums, found DP was hot, joined and here I am.
But I still need to learn more....there are so many things that I should learn..many many...
