Please do mention if its shared, VPS (either managed or unmanaged) and how much are you paying for it, and are you satisfied with the server speed?
Im using an unmanaged vps for over 5 years.. Even though its unmanaged their support team have always helped me when im in need. 30GB Space / 1GB ram / 750GB BW / Free direct admin - Price: $14.50 (IWF Hosting) Things they have done: Helped me to fight several DDOS attacks Setup security via htaccess when a chinese hacker tried to ping using an exploit in wordpress Restored a back up when i was stuck after a failed wordpress update Protected files using Chatr command right after i recovered from an sql injection attack which made my site listed in google as harmful. Helped me to move one domain which was under admin account to a separate user (flippa buyer) Have installed scripts for me and even suggested alternates etc I think i can go on.. So far i have 100+ resolved support tickets.. but nowadays they have expanded and hired new staffs etc so the support is a little bit slower.. still i haven't faced any problems... So i can definitely recommend them as a good and reliable hosting provider.
VPS from Knownhost for over a year, I pay $34/mo*, I highly recommend them. Best managed VPS in the market.
I have a couple Wordpress installs on a shared server I pay $5 a month for at A Small Orange. Load speed is fast and always has been (Wordpress is a bloated script). Both Wordpress sites are low traffic, in case you were wondering. If they had more visitors, I might be tempted to install a caching plugin just to reduce load on the server so I could get more life out of the shared plan before being required to move to a VPS.
I use BlueHost India's Wordpress plan. Reasonable. Cost approx 90USD [in INR] for two years of hosting, and 10USD for a GoDaddy domain.
I personally using Godaddy managed WordPress hosting for my blog and its almost 6+ Months and never has any issues with them. I also never faced any downtime yet.
I've used Site5 and Hostgator. Both have been pretty good. You can usually find a sale for Hostgator every couple of weeks. Site5 is pretty reasonable all around.
