Picking the right domain name is difficult. I have some good ones that I have done nothing with (which I should because chemistry is my passion). However other projects come up for other people. Where do you turn for inspiration? Thanks
In my case: 1. First, from within. Even in meditation I sometimes get inspiration. 2. Second, outside. Sometimes you'd be surprised where you pick up ideas. 3. Third, a little of both. I usually get ideas outside first, then they become voila moments after a little thinking inside.
Agreed.. I just do think and think..That's really bad to find the ones I came up with had been registered.. I also want to know how people find their domain names.
I have a great page here (froggydomains.com/links.asp) which gives you some ideas of websites and tools to help you out also. thanks, Jonathan
I search the local magazines: what is hot, new styles that are coming out, to what is goin' on in the news, I listen to what people say, and how they say it. That is what I look for.
Well my personal rule is don't limit yourself to just available names. If somebody already owns the name you want, send them a nice email and try to buy it from them.
sedo.com They have domains for sale as well as domain auctions. Sometimes though, I just browse the domains and they give me ideas for other domains.
If looking for original names, then 1) Artistic approach-As Dave Zan said, use the inside/outside to generate original names. 2) Scientific Approach- Use domain names generator/suggestion like Pcnames and even Godaddy smart search.
it takes me less than 10 minutes of solid thinking to think of a good domain...just sit there and relax..it comes to you
I use enom.com They also have a suggestion tool that provieds up to 80 suggestions.. Also check out this site http://www.justdropped.com/
If you haven't already heard of pcnames.com it is hands down the best site out there and even better their services are all 100% free. I am currently helping them test a new API feature they will soon be offering to put their results on your own website. You can check this out yourselves at www.froggydomains.com
also do not think for yourself when searching for a domain and also think from a Search Engines point of view
i usually use yahoo domain search, and i always find a good domain in 1 hour, or you chould try nameboy which is more better
When I think of an idea, I think of a domain. Don't buy domains without having an idea of what you'll do with em IT
for finding names that sound good i like to browser around with google maps. some party of this world just have the most amazing sounding names you can imagine. australias outback has lots nice names, new zealand is good, the south east asian region is very good as well, but sadly not covered by goodle maps with names, just satelite pictures. already found some good names there and you can always play around with the ending to make is your name.
