Most of the images I use, I normally get from http://www.deviantart.com/ Its a free website, full of loads of user submitted galleries. So far, I have always been able to get anything I have wanted or needed from it.

    That's a big no no
... those images from devianart are copyrighted to the artists and you would be making huge copyright infringements.

Before using ANY images.. make sure they clearly state that it's "royalty-free" and check the terms of usage as well.

Please don't use deviantart unless it's for educational purposes like practicing. Many of those works are copyrighted. Better off to use sxc.hu.

I recently made a blog post on this very subject.

Be careful where you get your images from and always ensure that you have them licenced appropriately for your intended usage.

StockExchange is DEFINITELY your safest bet.
Anywhere else could be putting you into copyright jeopardy.

Deviant art does have copyright. All the submitted artwork is copyright of the artist, and using it is a STRICT copyright infringement unless stated.

I'm trying to find other sources for abstract graphics which I can use for free while creating templates. So far, all sources of abstract graphics I've found have all had copyright issues or have wanted a link back on every page. If I'm creating Wordpress Themes, I can't link back from all pages, can I?

I just checked out www.publicdomainpictures.com and I absolutely love it!
I think I'll bookmark it and use it for finding header images for my future Wordpress themes! THanks for the link.
