I go the old fashioned route of using my hosting company (Penguin Hosting, in my signature) and ask them to register the domain for me. Then, it gets set up and routed correctly for me to just start the site...

Make sure that when your hosting company registers the domain name for you, it shows you as owner of the domain name instead of the web host. Or else you might find yourself being in a bind when you need to find a new host.

I'd be dubious about any registrar who hid their whois information. Where do you go if there's a dispute?

The address on the site looks OK but again, no phone number.

    Be wary!

I am beginning to like Godaddy more each time I use it. I would also list namecheap and Namepros(reseller for enom)
