Where do the news blogs get their updates from?

I'm not referring to Engadget, Gizmodo and the like, which have their own staff, but blogs operated by a single person.

Let's take a tech blog like i4u - how are they able to get access to tons of press releases and the latest events?

I take my hat off to these guys.

Any advice and tips are appreciated - thanks in advance!

They probably use RSS feeds at the very least to pull the information as it happens?
Is that what you are asking?

If it's a small blog they prolly recycle their news from the most authoritative blogs in their respective niche. The big blogs get their news from press releases they receive in their mailbox.

RSS feeds! That is what most of the blogs use. Blogs like Techcrunch for example have a different background. The guys like Michael, Duncan and the others attend different events like conferences, interviews and so on and as the above post has said, they get loads of press releases on their inbox.

With all the RSS feeds and free online news aggregators, it's hard NOT to find news these days. If you have a blog on iPhones, for example, you can set up a feed to receive all new news articles on Google News about iPhones. You're basically filtering news from thousands of different staffed news sources.

Folks - thanks for the replies!

I had initially thought they use RSS feeds, but i4u seems to be always reporting on the latest gadgets from unheard of companies - perhaps they're not using keyword-based RSS feeds, but rather get their news directly from multiple authoritative blogs as sharkyx has suggested.

    Just thinking out loud here.
