Where do search engines look?

In my site http://footballreporter.co.uk I have sub pages which I have named using short names to make it easier for myself. For example I know that af1 is the first round matches from the African Cup of Nations.
Would it make it easier for search engines if I changed the name, so that instead of the address ending in /af1.html it would end in /african-cup-of-nations-first-round-matches.html ?
    Obviously I have <title>first matches Africa 2006</title>
My other question is, why does Mozilla not show the full address? It only shows until co.uk. Explorer shows af1.html too

It is better to have keywords in your filenames. Don't make them overlong. /african-cup-of-nations-first-round-matches.html is too long. Most blogs use the first 20 or so characters of the title-tag. I think that makes sense:
    first-matches-africa-2006.html would work.

Mozilla shows the full address, the same as IE, are you sure you are looking in the right place?
