They get it from importers in the country, getting it directly from a foreign country is risky

I tried to get supplys from importers in my country, but their prices are horrible, just about 5-10 % less price as like in a normal shop and if you try
to make decent money you have to sell high priced articles or thousands of low priced ones.

Call the nearest merchants and ask for the wholesalers/wholesale lists.

They wouldn`t tell you. Offline merchants would never tell you their whole salers, cause they are afraid that people like us take them their business away!

The best way is to buy directly from importers. (Unfortunately most US manufacturers will not sell to ebay sellers.)

We have been supplying some ebay sellers, and they are very successful with their businesses. Because they can get the quality products with direct importer prices from us and are able to compete easily and make some good profits.

If you are in or around NYC, send me a pm, you can stop by our showroom (or you can get our contact info).

P.S. I have been helping ebay sellers for many years, if we don't carry the product line they're looking for, I redirect them to the right importers (I do not charge any consulting fees). I do this as a favor, because I have started selling on ebay part-time from my home, and now I own an import-export company with over 30 employess.

Alibaba may be a good resource also if you know whom you are dealing with. But as said, there are many scammers there, so be very careful about finding reputable sellers.

I hope it doesn't sound like an advertisement post.

Make sure you get it from the main distributor not just a wholesaler.

I think that you are forgetting the best source. Offline work can produce great results. Go to Flea Markets on the weekend and browse for some interesting things. You can also look into auctions and wholesale auctions. I know that my sister had some luck with buying warehouse lots, after the owner of the storage space lapsed on the payment. She was able to turn a decent profit for a few hours work, and there is always the chance that you can find a real gold mine. She managed to find a stash of Mary Kay cosmetics that sold really well.

I am familiar with children's brand name clothing sold on ebay. Some sellers get great end of the season deals off the clearance rack and then hold them to sell next season. For instance, I just bought a pair of $40 pants at gap for my daughter for $4.97 on the clearance rack. Clothing sellers would turn around and sell them during back to school season in August for $15 easily, $10 profit on that one auction. Just an example.

However, there are so many sellers that have tons of new with tag gap, tommy hilfiger, limited too, etc. clothing listed and I would love to know where they get it all. Too much to just be purchasing off the clearance rack. They may purchase it online during the big sales.

As I said before, and as was ignored, almost any luxury brand name stuff you see on eBay sold in bulk is fake. If you find an item I can probably go down the street here and take a picture of it at a knockoff stand at the market for a couple of dollars. I don't sell on eBay, but I do see plenty of merchandise here and there and it's the same thing - often even labeled as "From Thailand." Another way to check, though this is a little harder, is to take a look at the design. Often you'll see an A&F hat, for instance, that A&F doesn't actually design, produce or sell, heh. That's a bit of a giveaway.

Are you saying that even the children's brand name clothing is fake? I don't really consider gap and limited too luxury.

The trick is been part of the distribution chain.... depending on the product you are selling, and the market it has been designed for.

I live in panama; and our geographic position allow us to wholesale to south america caribean and others.

My mom works (for 30 years now) in a company that buy luxury merchandise in europe and sell it wholesale... it is located in colon free zone and doesn't pay any taxes due a who knows when law...

Import and export here has been the way to go from over 50 years.... but let's be honest...
to run a wholesale business requires some cash in front... besides... is hard at this time to get an exclusive distribution lisence unless you buy it from someone who is on his way to bankrupt..
The 90% of this business have a office in Miami... so buying here to sell in the US is not really a profitable option.

something that h appens a lot is contraband but this manufactures have extricts quality and market controls.

I sent a bvlgari watch to a friend as a gift (payed lesss than 1000) and when he were looking for tech support they ask him 20 questions because the serial number were specified to be sold in latin america...

Its too late into the game now all the manufacturers are on ebay now there is no way for a small guy like u and I to do so anymore. Most people sell stuff that they get from the company they work for they get a discount. Drop shipping was a big thing 2-3 years ago but now too many people are doing it.

Brand items are fake on ebay, you can't make money with dropshipping on ebay, as they charge a lot for the products. Best thing to do is call the manufacturers.

Actually best thing to do is look at something else don’t waist your time I looked into it about 2 years ago for about 6mo unless you manufacture it you will never make enough to pay for the time you invested in it.
