Where do I start?

I have been researching clickbank for a while now. I tried last year to make a go at it and I did OK, but I only did adwords ppc and only came out even after a few months. I know that I was lucky with that. What I want to know is what is the best place to start as far as making some income online with clickbank, without losing my butt on adwords. Should I article write or free ads? Do I need my own website? Any help is appreciated.

Looks like you have tried ppc but came out even, that means you are already familiar with paid advertising. Why don't you stay with that instead of exploring free ads or article writing b/c it takes a long time before you start seeing conversions with this method. Back to paid focus on getting positive ROI by doing in-dept keyword research and better adcopy testing and also maybe using different landing pages offered by merchant. Once you see results with 1-2 advertisers move to other methods.

Thanks, but I am trying to do better than breaking even. That's why I thought I would go with the free ways this time and them build up back to the ppc. It just didn't make since to spend $50 a day and then make $50 a day.

Congrats man! I spend a TON of money on PPC, and lost most of it. I know how to use PPC now, but don't use it for CB commisions. I use it to grow my mailing list. I personally think that there are four factors to getting big with this:

    - Blogging
    - Email Marketing
    - Article Marketing
    - PPC

The combination of these four methods creates magic (at least for me). But these methods are really for people who want to build up a community and actually establish some sort of crediblity/branding/expert status in a particular niche. If you take out the blogging part, then you can't do much email marketing either.

I've seen people send traffic to Squiddo using PPC and Article Marketing, but don't know how successful they are with this. I have one squidoo lens that's just staying there. I don't like the idea of something coming to your site once, then deciding to go somewhere else and never coming back.

When you capture email, at least you have a chance to "work them." Show them you're just like them, but that you still know more than they do. Gain their trust, and make a recommendation. I've seen conversions as high as 22% using this method.

When I was doing PPC, I'd make one sale out of every 200 clicks or so. With this, I'm seeing one sale out of every 9-12 clicks. BIG difference.

That's great. I am really looking into the whole article marketing thing now. I am just trying to figure out how to learn how to do this without putting out some nonsense articles that people don't even look at. I am not sure how to get people to buy what I am promoting. I don't have my own website yet, I was just going to redirect them to the website that is already in place, of course with my hoplink. Where and how do you put links into an article?

You can give article marketing a shot as that still works for me even though not as good as it used to. Also i made some sales from using adroll (but i must warn you that adroll is not for every niche so choose sites carefully)
